When we started in 2020, we promised to be a free-4-life club. But recent events have forced us to break that promise. However, we are making it up to all our loyal supporters.
From 1 June 2024, we will introduce a monthly membership of R29. Yes, that’s it! Only R29 per month.
And, you can join for a month, two or three to get to know us and before long, 10 years would have passed.
We are not a pond club. This means, we are not bound to one dam or pond. We are a group of friends who meet where-ever there is water and we have permission to use it. And we keep looking for dams and sizable ponds in the Greater Cape Town area.
Sonstraal Dam is still our mess-around pond of choice, as it’s free to go there any day of the week.

Northern City Radio Sailing is the Radio Sailing group and our yacht of choice is the DragonForce 65 (DF65). It’s cheap, it’s quick and it’s suitable for Sonstraal Dam where the wind is often just a suggestion. We also cater for the 1 meter classes such as the DF95 and IOM. This is the competitive team and a new addition to our stable.
Eastern City MBC is the Helderberg Chapter and focus on Scale Models.
Southern City MBC is for the dudes and dudettes in the Southern Suburbs and we hope to come to you soon at Sandvlei near Muizenberg. And last but not least…
Western City MBC is an anything that floats RC group at Sonstraal Dam opening on 10 June 2024.
For only R29 per month, there is no other Western Cape Model Boat Club that will give you the same value for money.
